Four Generations of Roofing Since 1953
Steve’s Roofing Company has roots going back more than 70 years. The company was founded in 1953 by L. W. Smith and has remained a family roofing business through four generations.
Louis Steven Forrester Sr., the second generation of the family, continued the roofing tradition after serving in Vietnam and retiring from the military. In 1991, the family returned to Decatur, Tennessee, bringing with them deep ties to both Chattanooga and Southeast Tennessee and continuing the business from Decatur.
The company later passed to the third generation, Louis Steven Forrester Jr., and today is operated by a father-and-son team, with Louis Steven Forrester III joining his father as a partner in the family business.
Through every generation, one thing has remained consistent: Steve’s Roofing Company has specialized in residential asphalt roofing. It’s the work our family knows, and rather than trying to be everything to everyone, we have chosen to stay focused on the roofing systems we install, repair, and inspect every day.
More than seven decades after L. W. Smith started the company, we’re proud to continue serving homeowners in Decatur and communities throughout Southeast Tennessee as a family-owned and operated roofing company.
